Integrate your Communication major with your Christ at the Core (“general education”) learning.
Artifact 1
"The Window Seat"
This short screenplay is inspired by Acts 20, where Eutychus, the main figure in the screenplay, falls out of the window during the teaching of Apostle Paul. The screenplay takes place after the event, and Eutychus is retelling the story to his family. The medium of a screenplay is an artful representation of Biblical interpretation. The assignment was for a New Testament class, and I thought it would be interesting to incorporate media communication training with Biblical interpretation. The ability to bring the scriptures alive in a creative setting increases the accessibility of the message.
Artifact 2
"Attain, Apply, Achieve: Multi-Literacy"
This assignment from freshman year is about the value of communication in disciplinary practices. Multi-literacy, then, is about being able to communicate well in any aspect of life, whether in the context of business, education, social, or others. This was one of many essays written during my college career that express the importance of communication in general topics.
