The following essay captures what it looks like to express the fruit of the spirit in one's daily life. The primary Christian value that is emphasized is that of patience. Christian character is developed by the practice of such values in daily life. During the writing of this essay, my now fianceé and I were dating long-distance, is is while I was at Evangel University in Missouri. The experience was one of the most formative in our relationship, and this essay captures what it looked like at that time to grow in Christian character while experiencing difficulty. The college career is packed with these types of experiences, and they typically result in extreme unexpected growth.
